Competitive Teams at MAG

MAG’s competitive gymnastics teams from beginner through advanced levels for boys and girls have been successful for over 20 years.

Annually, gymnasts from MAG represent Maine at the State, Regional and National levels for the USAG.

Competitive gymnastics involves commitment for the athletes as well as their families. Additional hours of training are involved depending on the level of the gymnast. Along with a high level of athletic skill, many areas of personal character are strongly enhanced. Most children that participate in the sport of gymnastics do not move onto the team programs. However, any involvement aids in their overall development.

Pre-Team Classes

Invitation Only

Gymnasts who are very enthusiastic about their development and progress may be invited to join a more accelerated program at MAG. These classes are designed for athletes who show above average strength and flexibility, as well as strong listening skills to excel through the skill progressions at a faster pace. Please contact the MAG Office for more information regarding pre-team enrollment.

American Flyers Competitive Girls & Boys Gymnastics Teams

Gymnastics is FUN at any level. Combining fun and fitness in a safe and nurturing environment is what we do at MAINE ACADEMY OF GYMNASTICS. Competitive gymnastics is not for everyone, but the benefits of participating in the sport are. We are committed to providing a rewarding experience for every child at every level.

Maine Academy’s team, The American Flyers, have been for over a decade, the Maine State Champions. Competitors compete and medal at every level throughout the State and Region.

American Flyers Gridiron Cup

Each year, Maine Academy hosts the American Flyers Gridiron Cup: a competitive meet with gymnasts from all over New England. The next meet will be held February 5 & 6, 2027 at The Point, South Portland, Maine. Contact MAG for more information.
